In July 9, 2016, the Dirty Girl Mud Run will take Killington, Vermont, by storm. As the largest women’s only mud run in the world, this 5K features challenging obstacles, crazy costumes, and tons of mud – and it’s all for a good cause. Since 2011, over 900,000 women across the country have participated in this incredibly fun obstacle course that benefits Bright Pink, a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in women. Whether you’re looking to participate in this Killington race or cheer on your favorite lady, you’re guaranteed a wonderful experience at the Dirty Girl Mud Run.
Killington Race: The Dirty Girl Mud Run
An Awesome Course
Participants can run, walk, climb, crawl, and everything in between on the Dirty Girl Mud Run course. The 3.1-mile course features a mix of off-road terrain and some pavement, so be sure to wear your running shoes (but not your favorite running shoes) and prepare for them to get really muddy! Guests can choose to register for various wave times between 9 AM and 2 PM, with waves starting every 15-30 minutes and including approximately 250 women. Because it’s an un-timed event, you can go at your leisure and choose to walk, jog, sprint, or simply stick together with your team.
Crazy Obstacles
You’ll encounter 10-12 different obstacles throughout the course of the Dirty Girl Mud Run. Test your rope-climbing skills on the “Get a Grip” rope, climb over tall walls, jump over fire, and army-crawl through tunnels of mud. Don’t worry – all of the obstacles are safe and manageable, but if you reach one that’s too challenging, feel free to take one of the detours. There will also be water stations throughout the course for you to refuel and recharge.
What To Bring
In addition to a crazy costume that will inevitably get very, very dirty, there are a few things that participants should bring to the race. To ensure a smooth day at the event, make sure you have:
- A valid ID with your birthday to check in if you’re over 18
- Some cash for parking, food, and drinks at the after-party
- A garbage bag to store your muddy or wet clothes
- A towel to dry off
- Change of clothes and sandals for after the event
- A camera to capture all of your incredible memories
- Your registration ticket!
