You don’t need to travel to Munich for a great Oktoberfest celebration. Since 2015, Killington Resort has celebrated German culture with an Oktoberfest extravaganza, one of our favorite Killington VT events! Listen to fantastic live music, indulge in some delicious brats, and (of course) enjoy refreshing German beer. Oktoberfest is typically held the second weekend of October and lasts for two days. So grab a beer stein and pull up your lederhosen for Killington Oktoberfest!

The Best Things to Do at Killington Oktoberfest
Enjoy Brats and Beers
The highlight of Killington Oktoberfest is, of course, the beers and the traditional German cuisine. In previous years, bratwurst, turkey legs, sausages, sauerkraut, potato salad, and warm pretzels have been on the menu at the festival. Save room for dessert because there will also be plenty of traditional Bavarian sweet treats available. For anyone 21 and over, there will be a variety of German beers to enjoy. Purchase one of the commemorative Killington Oktoberfest Steins before your visit to also receive two beer tickets, good for any of the beer tents. Oompah!
Get Competitive
In previous years, there have been three individual contests that have separated the Erwachsene (adults) from the Kinder (children). The first competition is the stein hoisting championship. Men and women over 21 are invited to test their arm strength in this grueling competition. Can you hoist a full liter stein longer than your competitors? Stop by the info booth to sign up.
If hoisting isn’t your calling, maybe try keg bowling! Get in touch with your inner Donkey Kong and roll some barrels down the lanes. This is always a fun event, so whether you are participating or just watching, don’t miss it!
Would you rather exercise your jaw than your arms? Sign up for the bratwurst eating contest! The top three champions received a donation for $300 to the charity of their choice, so you know you’re eating for a good cause.
Can’t decide which competition to watch? Then head over to the Ski House Challenge! Each year, Killington Resort invites local ski houses and groups to compete in their Bavarian best for the title of Most Dominant Ski House. The teams compete in five separate events: keg bowling, stein hoisting, beer pong, brat eating, and the terra maze. Come for the great costumes and stay for the nail-biting action!
