Cold Brews
Killington Resort is proud to become the second location for the incredibly successful Vermont Brewers Festival. Now in its 25th year, the festival promises to be a smash hit in the gorgeous mountain setting of Killington. The fun begins March 24 with two tasting sessions (noon-3pm, 4pm-7pm). Warm yourself by the fire pits or in the warming tent, because the event is rain, snow, or shine! Over 100 beers will be on tap, and tickets ($42) include a souvenir glass and 15 “tasters.” Get yours – and the full beer lineup – here!
A Beast of a Party
Skiing enthusiasts won’t want to miss the Nor’Beaster, a series of ski-themed events hosted on Saturdays at the Killington Resort throughout April. The fun begins with Nor’Beaster: Bud Light’s Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge on April 7. Open to all spectators, the competition is for amateur skiers on the resort’s mogul course. The event is the season’s biggest party on snow! Tailgate, make new friends, and enjoy the outdoor beer gardens with pristine views of all the action as you watch aspiring pros compete in a variety of age groups for the title of Nor’Beaster!
The Nor’Beaster festivities continue the following weekend (April 14) when the focus shifts to the up-and-coming “sport” of pond skimming on downhill skis. Watch and try not to laugh (too hard, anyway) as costumed “athletes” welcome spring with this bizarre ritual. You have to see it to believe it! April 21 the focus shifts to live music and on-snow demos of the newest equipment, and the month-long showcase wraps up on April 28 with the Killington Triathlon (ski, bike, and run!) in the snow. Season passes can be purchased to get access to the slopes and all of the fun events, whether spectator or aspiring Nor’Beaster gladiator. Don’t miss it!
The Sweet Life at the Vermont Maple Festival
Nothing says Vermont like the decadent taste of maple syrup, the state “beverage.” The 52nd annual Vermont Maple Festival in St. Albans features all things maple, as well as antique road shows, carnival rides and games, variety shows, and arts and crafts – including chainsaw art! Parades, stage shows and live entertainment, and a family atmosphere make this the perfect weekend festival (April 27-29). See the full schedule, here.
