Vermont is a haven for anyone interested in U.S. history. From Hildene, the summer home of the Lincoln family, to sites of historic battlefields to the birthplaces of two presidents, we are lucky to be surrounded by such history. An example of this is the Coolidge Homestead. Less than 20 minutes from Killington, VT, is the birthplace of our 30th President: Calvin Coolidge. This 600-acre site includes the hillside cemetery where President Coolidge is now buried, the Union Christian Church, a general store, schoolhouse, as well as other historic houses. The most popular draw, though, is the President Calvin Coolidge Museum and Education Center. Whether you are a history buff brushing up on old knowledge or are just learning about President Coolidge’s life, you’re sure to love the Coolidge Homestead.
