Since Mountain Time is located in the mountains it can be a little tricky to get to. A dirt road will lead you to the property and features some steep inclines. We highly suggest a vehicle with four-wheel drive when you drive up to Mountain Time. The mountain towns also have spotty cell service, so make sure you are ready for the trek before taking off!

On the upper level of this gorgeous home, sloped windows let in the sunlight and the beautiful mountain top views, which makes it feel like the rooms are open to the sky! In the open-plan main living area, comfy seating is tucked under the angled windows, and a large colorful western-style rug anchors the space. The huge brick fireplace will keep you toasty all evening long, and we make it easy by providing you with firewood.
From the dining area, sliding doors give you access to great views, as well as to the deck. The dining table can seat eight comfortably, and the mirrors on the far wall reflect the sloped window wall, expanding the space. The fully equipped kitchen includes a toaster and coffee maker, and bright steel appliances. A mirrored backsplash widens the feel of the narrow galley kitchen, and since the kitchen is open to the dining and living areas, no one has to feel isolated from the group (or the views) while they prepare or clean up from meals!

That’s right: even though Sunrise Association has had to close their shared facilities due to COVID restrictions, you’ll still have access to an awesome sauna of your very own here at this Killington ski and stay property, and it’s located right in your downstairs bathroom.
Now, back to practical matters. The laundry room is located on this level, just off the landing. There are two bedrooms on the lower level, with the first bedroom featuring two twin bunk beds. Note: Due to the Vermont State Covid-19 mandates, Sunrise Association has regretfully made the difficult decision to close all shared amenities, including the indoor pool, outdoor pool, whirlpool/hot tubs, sauna, steam room, weight room, and exercise room. This decision will last for the duration of the 2020/2021 winter ski season.
A Hunter’s Paradise
When you enter Sunrise – Northstar B-1 rental, you’ll be amazed at the abundance of trophy animals on display (even if you have seen them here first in our lovely photos!). The sheer size of the moose antlers alone will overwhelm you; then you’ll sit back on the comfortable sofas and loungers to admire the numerous trophies everywhere – deer, turkey, pheasant, and fish adorn the walls, along with several beautiful pelts.
The open plan of the main living area in this lodge showcases the centerpiece of the room, the large stone-faced wood-burning fireplace. You’ll enjoy cozy evenings around the fire, while perhaps imagining the adventures that were had by those who hunted those glorious trophies. Large, overstuffed seating makes the living room the place where everyone will want to gather, and they’ll surely also want to gather around the large flat-screen TV that sits nearby. Sloping skylights bring the sky and mountain views right into the room. A window seat tucked under one set of skylights is a great place to curl up with a good book or sit at night and watch the stars.
In this gorgeous open-plan living area, the dining table sits under a beautiful antler chandelier and the large sliding glass doors provide access to the deck and generous views of the mountains beyond. The fully equipped kitchen has granite countertops, rustic-look cabinets, and a full-size dishwasher and stove, while sharing the same incredible views with the rest of the room. The result is, those who prepare and clean up from meals don’t have to miss out on socializing with the rest of the group! Everyone can visit together and enjoy the same scenery, while making a great meal together. Now that’s quality time!
Traditional Styling
Western and nature-themed artwork continues in the rest of the townhome for rent in Vermont, and the bright white walls offset the dark wood tones. While you won’t find too many more animals in the bedrooms, you will encounter nice outdoorsy touches like snowshoes and pinecones. Four of the five bedrooms have queen-size beds, while the fifth bedroom, which is outfitted like an office, has a Mission-style queen sleeper sofa. This townhome will easily sleep ten – more than enough room for you and your friends, or your extended family. The three bathrooms have tub/shower combos and long, doubled-bowled vanities.

To access the Sunrise Village Triple Chair lift using the Sundog trail, you will need to walk out of the Northstar parking area, turn right, walk up the road about 50 to 75 yards, and the trail is on the left side of the road. You will be able to ski back to the Northstar building.

See the Birds at VINS Nature Center
VINS Nature Center is home to all types of birds, from big raptors to the smallest songbirds. During your tour, you can watch the trainers and caretakers interact with the Center’s most famous residents.
Check the Feed Time & Tour Schedule before your visit to make sure you don’t miss an opportunity to observe and ask questions to the trainers. Their live raptor show, Raptors Up Close, is definitely not to be missed. You’ll have the chance to gather behind-the-scenes knowledge of how VINS cares for their flock as well as get a closer look at the raptors.
You can also visit their songbird aviary, which houses the songbirds that have been treated by VINS staff but are unable to be re-released. The Rehab in Action exhibit highlights the amount of work that goes into caring for these birds. It allows visitors to take a peek into the exciting world of rehabilitation. Observe the process through the viewing window at the on-site Center for Wild Bird Rehabilitation.
Walk the Trails
When you’re ready to explore the land around the center, the VINS Nature Center has maps available to visitors. There are three different trails, with the newest, McKnight Trail, suitable for visitors in wheelchairs or with strollers. The other two trails take hikers along the Ottauquechee River, offering a beautiful view of Dewey’s Pond. While on your hike, try to solve the VINS Nature Quest or complete the Raptor Scavenger Hunt. If you’d like to venture further out in the Quechee State Forest, you can combine your walk at VINS with a hike to the Quechee Gorge.
