Dating back to 1910, The Green Mountain Club has grown to 10,000 members and is statewide. Their goal is to maintain not only the Long Trail but also the Appalachian Trail in Vermont. Over 1,000 volunteers come out ever year to help manage more than 500 miles of hiking trail, 70 shelters and other sites. This makes the trails safe and more enjoyable for guests!
