Bear Mountain Loop
The Bear Mountain Loop trail is a 4.9-mile loop that leads hikers to the peak of Bear Mountain. The Bear Mountain Loop trail has a moderate difficulty and can be busy during the peak hiking season. The trailhead is at Sunrise Mountain Road and signs lead you through the rest of the Bear Mountain loop. The trail starts off with expansive fields of colorful wildflowers and small mountain creeks. As you climb the coniferous forest becomes denser. Once you reach the peak, there are amazing views of the surrounding mountain range and Killington peak, the second highest peak in the Green Mountain range.
Bear Mountain is part of the Green Mountain range which stretches from Massachusetts to the border of Quebec, Canada. Mount Mansfield, to the north of Bear Peak, is the highest peak in the Green Mountain range. The Green Mountains are part of the Appalachian Mountain range which stretches all the way from Alabama to Quebec.
