Sunrise Café is one of the best options for ski in/ski out dining at the Killington Resort. The Sun Dog Trail, an easy green trail, will take you directly to the café. The trail runs through glistening snow-covered trees behind Bear Mountain and then takes you through a tunnel, passing the Sunrise Village as well as several condos and homes. If you are skiing to Sunrise Café, it is located right next to the Sunrise Village Triple Chair, but the last lift out is at 3:30 p.m. If you want to go to the café for dinner, the café is also accessible by car.
Good Food & Drinks at Sunrise Café
The Sunrise Café is the perfect way to warm up after a long day on the slopes. They serve beer, wine, and hot cider in a welcoming atmosphere. The café is only open during the winter months for the ski season and even then isn’t open every day of the week for lunch or dinner. Thursday thru Sunday you can stop by the café for lunch, and they stay open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.
Sunrise Café is known for serving some of the freshest food on the mountain. For lunch, their burgers, grilled cheese, and pulled pork sandwiches are popular; each comes with a large side of fries. For dinner, their hanger steak and salmon are popular, as well as their pasta bar. The pasta bar allows you to work with the chef to create your own pasta dish. They also have suggestions on dishes to try, like the North End Blend pasta dish, which consists of pasta with sausage, peppers, onions, and a sauce made of marinara and alfredo. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are available at the restaurant.
The atmosphere at the Sunrise Café is calm and relaxing compared to the chaos of the resort’s main lodge, and the service is always fast. The inside of the café is decorated with antique ski equipment and has plenty of windows, so you can watch people skiing and sledding and take in the gorgeous snow-covered landscape.
