No matter what time of year you decide to visit Killington, the mountainside town is full of fun adventures for your whole family. During the summer there are miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. In the winter Killing Ski Resort, the largest ski resort on the East Coast, opens for the season.

The K-1 Gondola takes you to the top of Killington Mountain’s peak, the second tallest in Vermont. This mile and a half long gondola ride offer breathtaking views of Killington and its surrounding mountain. Once you reach the top you have stunning 360-degree views of Vermont’s Green Mountains. At the top of the mountain the Peak Lodge. The lodge offers dining at 4,241 feet from a selection of chef-served stations. All of the food is made fresh at the lodge and uses farm fresh foods whenever possible. There are plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options as well, and there is a full-service bar. The Peak Lodge is open all year round.

The K-1 Express Gondola is also in operation year-round, being a particularly popular Killington, Vermont thing to do. Round-trip tickets to ride the gondola cost $30 for adults and $25 for children and seniors. If you want to take the gondola up and hike down, or hike up and take the gondola back down, there are one- way tickets. One-way tickets cost $15 for adults and $12 for children and seniors. They also offer group rates for four people. Children under 6 and adults 80 years old or old can ride the gondola for free. Make sure to pick up your complimentary ticket at the gondola’s ticket office.

The gondola is closed from May 26 – June 15. From June 16 – September 3 it is open Monday – Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Thursday – Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. From September 4 – October 14 it is open daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. During the winter the gondola from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on weekends and peak days and from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. midweek.
