One of the best ways to explore Killington is on two feet—or four. Check out trails in the 285-acre Giffords State Park. You’ll be surrounded by sugar maple, beech, yellow birch, white ash and hemlock trees, and a colorful display of native wildflowers on these Vermont dog friendly trails. The park is one of the few old-growth hardwood tree stands remaining in Vermont. For easier hikes, check out the 1.9-mile Deer Leap Trail in the park and the 0.4-mile Thundering Brook Falls. For more of a challenge, we like the 5.2-mile Sherburne Pass Trail to Pico Peak.
