Hiking Leffert’s Pond
There are several hiking trails at Lefferts Pond and most of them fall into the easy category. The Round Robin Trail offers a pretty hike on which you will crossover a dam and a bridge. You will get some nice views of Chittenden Reservoir and Lefferts Pond. The trail is great for beginners, as it is very wide with only the gentlest of inclines. The trail takes about four to five hours round trip. Lefferts Pond Trail is an easy trail with gentle rolling hills and very mild climbs and descents. Both of these hikes give you some lovely views of the mountains and the Ponds in Vermont. You may have to share this trail with occasional mountain bikers.
Boating
Only non-motorized boats are allowed on this lovely and placid pond and the reservoir to which it is connected. You can rent a kayak and explore the banks of the river. It is not unusual to see deer, beavers, and racoons as you travel along. Some fishing is allowed on the reservoir; the fish you will find here are brown trout, yellow perch, and largemouth bass. Strict regulations apply on all boating and fishing in the area.

Horseback Riding
If you don’t feel like walking, you can always go horseback riding. There are a couple of stables where you can rent horses in the area. Be advised that you need a day pass in order to ride. Passes can be obtained at The Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden.
