What to Expect
This year’s game has a fascinating backstory, where guests must follow a series of clues found inside a time capsule that was buried many years ago. The capsule holds old photos, maps, and artifacts from a bygone era to create a puzzle that’s just waiting to be solved. While searching for clues, you’ll face a variety of challenges that require basic mental toughness and physical fitness, including hiking mountains, solving riddles, and following maps to find your way through the forest. Some clues may be obvious and others may leave you wandering for days, but the game’s demands are well worth it – winners will receive a huge cash prize and, of course, bragging rights!
What to Bring
Due to Vermont’s rugged terrain and the intense nature of the game, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes, multiple layers of outdoor clothing, and bug spray and sunscreen to protect you from the elements. It’s also a good idea to bring water and snacks to refuel when you get tired, and be sure to pack a camera to document your journey!
Play for a Cause
If a cash prize isn’t enough to motivate you, the Green Mountain Adventure Challenge is also a great way to raise money for charity. Four years ago, a family member of one of the event organizers was diagnosed with cancer, and after years of treatment and care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, the cancer was pronounced virtually undetectable. In celebration of this achievement and in support of all the incredible work they do, the organization will donate $10 of each contestant’s entry fee to help continue cancer care and research.
